QANDEEL BALOCH CASE!!

Few years ago, we have witnessed a huge case of honor killing of famous model QANDEEL BALOCH. She was killed brutally by her own brother in the name of honor. It was truly unacceptable in every way. People protested, voices were raised on social media and did as much as they could for it. Then FINALLYY, this case was taken to Supreme Court. Now, we have heard recently that Supreme Court has given their final decision over this case.

Supreme Court has announced 25 years jail to her brother for her murder and they have set an example of justice once again. They condemned that if any accident like this happens again, serious actions will be taken because such happenings with no code of conduct aren’t acceptable anymore. Murdering someone in the name of honor is not right at all, but we’re happy that justice has been served and our court didn’t disappoint us.

This time, JUSTICE DELAYED BUT NOT DENIED!!! and that’s appreciable.

Understanding the risks of performance-enhancing drugs

If you are thinking of taking performance-enhancing drugs to win a competition or a sport, please stop! You need to know its effects on your body.

Most determined athletes will tell you that the effort to win is vicious. There is a lot of pressure on an athlete, not only for his personal satisfaction but to win for his country and bring joy for the nation or securing a spot on a professional team pursue him to use immoral ways(drugs). Due to these circumstances, the use of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs is increasing day by day.
But the joy comes with the very high risk. Before using performance-enhancing drugs likeanabolic steroids, androstenedione, human growth hormone, erythropoietin, diuretics, creatine, and stimulants, take your time to learnabout the potential benefits and health risks. You may decide that the benefits aren’t worth the risks.

Anabolic steroids:-

What are they?

Some athletes use a kind of steroids known as anabolic-androgenic steroids or just anabolic steroids. The main anabolic steroid hormone produced by your body is testosterone.

> Testosterone is the primary male sex hormone and an anabolic steroid.
> In male humans, testosterone plays a key role in the development of male reproductive tissues such as testes and prostate.
> It also promotes secondary sexual characteristics such as increased muscle and bone mass, and the growth of body hair and a deeper voice.

Some athletes take straight testosterone to boost their performance. The anabolic steroids used by athletes are often synthetic modifications of testosterone.

These hormones have approved medical uses. But improving athletic performance isn’t one of them.
Why are these drugs so appealing to athletes?

> It makes muscles bigger.
> Anabolic steroids may reduce the muscle damage that occurs during a hard workout, helping athletes recover from the session more quickly and enabling them to work out harder and more frequently.
> Some athletes, as well as non-athletes, may like the muscular appearance they get when they take the drugs.

Designer steroids:-

Another type of anabolic steroids is named as designer drugs. These are very dangerous and full of side effects. They are even not tested or approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) which represents a health threat to athletes. Designer steroids are synthetic steroids which are specially made for athletes but they have no approved medical use.

Risks:-

Many athletes take high doses of anabolic steroids more than prescribed for medical use. Anabolic steroids have dangerous side effects on your body.

In men:-

It may develop;

> Prominent breasts.
> Shrunken testicles.
> Infertility.
> Prostate gland enlargement.

In women:-

> A deeper voice, which may be irreversible.
> An enlarged clitoris, which may be irreversible.
> Increased body hair.
> Baldness, which may be irreversible.
> Infrequent or absent periods.

Both men and women might experience:-

> Severe acne.
> Increased risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture.
> Liver abnormalities and tumors.
> Increased low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (the “bad” cholesterol).
> Decreased high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (the “good” cholesterol.
> High blood pressure (hypertension).
> Heart and blood circulation problems.
> Aggressive behaviors, rage or violence.
> Psychiatric disorders, such as depression.
> Drug dependence.
> Infections or diseases such as HIV or hepatitis if you’re injecting the drugs.

Inhibited growth and development, and risk of future health problems in teenagers. The use of Anabolic-androgenic steroids is banned by many sports organizations. These drugs are made either in other countries and smuggled or prepared in some secret labs. In the past 20 years, more-effective law enforcement in the United States has pushed much of the illegal steroid industry into the black market.

Androstenedione:-

What is it?

Adrenal glands, ovaries, and testesproduce a hormone, which is called Androstenedione (andro). This hormone is normally converted to testosterone and a form of estrogen (estradiol) in both men and women.

Andro has medical uses and is allowed only on prescription. Its use as a performance-enhancing drug is illegal. But scientific studies disprove these claims and tested that supplemental androstenedione doesn’t increase testosterone and that your muscles don’t get stronger with androstenedione use.

Risks:-

Side effects of andro in men include:-

> Acne.
> Diminished sperm production.
> Shrinking of the testicles.
> Enlargement of the breasts.

In women, side effects include:-

> Acne
> Masculinization, such as deepening of the voice and male-pattern baldness
> In both men and women, it can damage the heart and blood vessels, increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Human growth hormone:-

What is it?

Human growth hormone, also known as gonadotropin, is a hormone that has an anabolic effect. Athletes take it to improve muscle mass and performance. However, it hasn’t been shown conclusively to improve either strength or endurance.
Human growth hormone is available only by prescription and is administered by injection.

Risks:-

Adverse effects related to human growth hormone range in severity and may include:

> Joint pain.
> Muscle weakness.
> Fluid retention.
> Diabetes.
> Vision problems.
> Carpal tunnel syndrome.
> Impaired glucose regulation.
> Diabetes.
> Enlarged heart (cardiomegaly.
> High blood pressure (hypertension).

Erythropoietin:-

What is it?

Erythropoietin is a type of hormone used to treat anemia in people with severe kidney disease. It increases the production of red blood cells and hemoglobin. Erythropoietin improves the movement of oxygen to the muscles.

Athletes commonly use a type of drug, which is a synthetic form oferythropoietin named as Epoetin.

Risks:-

Its side effects include:

> Increased risk of stroke.
> Heart attack.
> Blockage in an artery in the lung.

Diuretics:-

What are they?

Diuretics are drugs that change your body’s natural balance of fluids and salts (electrolytes), which can lead to dehydration. This loss of water can decrease an athlete’s weight, which many athletes prefer. Diuretics may also help athletes pass drug tests by diluting their urine and are sometimes referred to as a “masking” agent.

Risks:-

Side effects include:

> Dehydration.
> Muscle cramps.
> Dizziness.
> Potassium deficiency.
> Drop in blood pressure.
> Loss of coordination and balance.
> Death.

Creatine:-

What is it?

Many athletes take nutritional supplements instead of or in addition to performance-enhancing drugs. Supplements are available as powders or pills. Creatine monohydrate is a supplement that’s popular among athletes.

Creatine is a naturally occurring compound produced by your body that helps your muscles release energy. Scientific research indicates that creatine may have some athletic benefit by producing small gains in short-term bursts of power.

Creatine appears to help muscles make more adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which stores and transports energy in cells and is used for quick bursts of activity, such as weightlifting or sprinting. But there’s no evidence that creatine enhances performance in aerobic or endurance sports.

Risks:-

Possible side effects of creatine that can decrease athletic performance include:

> Stomach cramps.
> Muscle cramps.
> Weight gain.
> Dehydration.

It appears safe for adults to use creatine at the doses recommended by manufacturers.

Stimulants:-

What are they?

Some athletes use stimulants to stimulate the central nervous system and increase heart rate and blood pressure.Stimulants can boost physical performance and promote aggressiveness on the field. They help:

> Improve endurance.
> Reduce fatigue.
> Suppress appetite.
> Increase alertness and aggressiveness.

Common stimulants include caffeine and amphetamines. Cold remedies often contain the stimulants ephedrine or pseudoephedrine hydrochloride.
Energy drinks, which are popular among many athletes, often contain high doses of caffeine and other stimulants.

The street drugs cocaine and methamphetamine also are stimulants.

Risks:-

They have side effects that can impair athletic performance, including:

> Nervousness and irritability.
> Insomnia.
> Dehydration.
> Heatstroke.
> Addiction.

Other side effects include:

> Heart palpitations.
> Heart rhythm abnormalities.
> Weight loss.
> Tremors.
> Mild high blood pressure.
> Hallucinations.
> Stroke.
> Heart attack and other circulatory problems.

Do performance-enhancing drugs boost performance? Some athletes may appear to achieve physical gains from such drugs, but at what cost?
The long-term effects of performance-enhancing drugs haven’t been rigorously studied. And short-term benefits are tempered by many risks. Not to mention that doping is prohibited by most sports organizations.

No matter how you look at it, using performance-enhancing drugs is a risky business.

Avenger’s endgame is just hitting it!!!!

How To Revitalize Pakistan’s Agricultural Sector & Rural Economy

As quoted by John Salazar,

“I have always said there is only one thing that can bring our nation down – our dependence on foreign countries for food and energy. Agriculture is the backbone of our economy.”

As Pakistan is an agricultural country, our maximum income comes from the crops we grow. The economic development of our country depends on the agriculture sector. Agriculture is the spine of an economy which helps in providing bread to the people of that state. It also gives the raw material to the industry. GDP consist of about 26 percent of agriculture, 52 percent of the population is getting its livelihood from it. 67.5 percent of the population of Pakistan lives in rural areas and are directly involved in it.

The rural economy experience problems due to the lack of Pakistan’s security and increased terrorism. From the last two decades, there is a notable decrease in the growth rates of agriculture. Agriculture growth also depends on weather and market fluctuations. The instability of growth can be controlled by public policy and investment.

The question arises how rural Pakistan can achieve sustained growth and reduce poverty?

For the healthy growth of our country, it is important to improve its agricultural and rural productivity and incomes. Rigorous efforts to manage land, soil, water, and energy more sustainably. It will also require dramatic reforms to markets for seed, fertilizer, land, and commodities such as wheat, and policies to clarify land tenure issues, encourage rural enterprise development, and improve the status of rural women.

Talking about growth, rural poverty is also needed to lessen and growth alone is not enough to eliminate poverty. Certain steps have to be taken regarding rural poverty too which includes dedicated attention to public services in the countryside, especially social safety nets and programs for health, education, community development, and women’s empowerment.

  • Adapt to climate change.

Much of the land of Pakistan is semi-arid, which makes it exposed to climate related shocks, alternate policies and investments should be made for water storage and distribution including canal rehabilitation, maintenance, and drainage, to keep water flowing, protect against severe floods, and meet the country’s changing water and energy needs.

  • Increase agricultural resilience.

If Pakistan wants a consistent growth, it must strengthen its agriculture sector against weather extremes including floods, heat, and cold, and against pests and diseases. This will require public investment and purposeful policy reforms in agricultural research, extension, seed systems, and agricultural input markets to support farmers.

  • Reallocate public funding.

Pakistani government should lessenspending from the domestic earning, storage, and distribution of wheat, which amounted to 24.84 billion Pakistan rupees (PKR), about $255 million, in 2012/13. Savings can also be made by reducing sponsorships to the fertilizer industry, with that money redirected to research and extension efforts designed to improve soil and fertility management.

  • Adapt to urbanization.

The rapid growth of Pakistan’s urban areas means that demand for high-value fresh products such as fruits, vegetables, dairy, and meat is expanding. Maximizing this important opportunity for rural growers, major infrastructure investments are required including more stable electricity services, reliable transport networks and other building blocks of modern supply chains.

  • Target poverty.

Improving conditions for the rural poor will require major investments and policy reforms at the national and provincial levels, including improved health and education service delivery; an expansion of hygiene and sanitation infrastructure in rural areas; and capacity strengthening for public service provision at the provincial and local levels.

  • Empower women.

Policy makers currently pay too little attention to the role of women in Pakistan’s rural society and economy, their inability to exit from low-productivity rural activities, and their disempowerment in economic and social aspects of day-to-day life. Though some existing social protection and microfinance programs are helping rural women, and these can be models for a much broader effort. With a stronger focus on better targeting and participation, social protection programs and community-driven development programs can be central to Pakistan’s poverty reduction strategy.

The review article will briefly discuss the above mentioned issues and some of the possible remedies under the environment of Pakistanand their adoption to improve the agricultural productivity in the country.

How to dress up smart with smart money

Style is a way to say who you are without saying anything”

The fashion upgradation, the desire to look matchless is everybody’s desire for sure regardless of the age. That doesn’t mean you have to spend thousands of dollars to be a style doyen. And of course, the budget becomes a limitation when you are looking for such a thing, it has the tendency to alter your choice and change the way you present yourself when you step out of the home.

But don’t worry, this article will change the way you dress by giving you tips about how to dress with smart money. Of course, it won’t change your bank status but surely teach how to shop in a way that won’t cost you a fortune but still make you look sassy enough, and enhance your dressing in the best way possible.

So let’s begin!

  • Consider vintage:
  • Choosing to wear vintage is a great way of looking fashionable, as well as it’s not much pricey. There are many other benefits of wearing vintage that I would like you to acquaint you with.

    • Distinctiveness:
    • If you despair at how everyone seems to dress and look the same these days, vintage is the answer! It allows you to be truly individual, and while it might take some nerve to stand out from the crowd, a vintage queen will never look like anyone else.

    • Class:
    • Does it annoy you how poorly made some modern garments seem to be? Vintage clothes were made to last, rather than being seen as disposable fashion. So buying a vintage garment for the same price as something new will likely give you a lot more wear for your money.

    • Sassy:
    • Fashion goes in cycles, so it is inevitable that retro looks will come back in at some point. If you’re already wearing vintage, though, you’re ahead of the pack, and you will look like a stylish fashion leader!

    • Fun to delve:
    • I find vintage shopping quite exciting, as you never know what you will find. There won’t be dozens of the same piece, so these shops can be a treasure trove! If you don’t find something you like, move on to the next shop, or come back next week, and you may find the perfect outfit.

    • Adding your creativity:
    • If you’re concerned that wearing vintage will make you look as though you’ve raided your granny’s wardrobe, do what many people in the fashion industry do. By matching vintage pieces with modern purchases, you create a unique and fresh look.

    • Beautiful nostalgia:
    • With many TV series and films being set in previous decades, this can often lead to a revival of vintage style. If you enjoy such programs and have an interest in history, adopting a vintage look can allow you to extend that interest in the past.

  • Accessories are mandatory:

Accessories like an elegant scarf, a piece of jewelry, matching a pair of shoes, cute purse etc. have a big role in enhancing the overall outlook of how a person looks. You don’t need to go for the pricey ones, there are many cheap accessories available that can complement your dressing well.

  • Review what you have in your wardrobe:

Are you among those who have clothes piled up in the wardrobe, but when they open it up to wear something—all they come with is “I have got nothing to wear!” well then the problem doesn’t lie in not having anything to wear, it’s the ignorance of what you already have. And trust me once you start digging in, you will find SO many clothes that can be used or you can match and mix them with the new ones for new combinations.

And if you don’t find them suitable, at least you will know you have to get rid of them to make room for new ones.

  • Online shopping is cheaper!

Ever thought why online shopping is cheaper than the other one? Because it doesn’t have the expenses of the shop itself.

So if you are looking for cheap shopping, consider shopping online instead of other stores.

It’s even good if you know your size well, you can buy plenty of dresses and accessories online at really cheap prices!

  • Your cash and friend can go hand in hand:

If you are habitual of shopping extra things that you don’t actually need, but you only do so out of temptation. Then you should take a friend with yourself when you out shopping so that he/she can stop you from extra shopping while giving logical reasons too. Preferable “Take your cash with yourself and leave the credit card at home”

But don’t take a friend that would support you to do the opposite of what you expect, or you will end up broke!

  • Stick to your thing:

It’s amazing to try different dresses and get-ups on special occasions. But when you aren’t sure about something, or you haven’t tried it before and you aren’t confident about it, then it’s better not to make it an option. Know what suits you, what looks best in and stick to it.Dressy occasions aren’t the time to play with trends, so know your silhouette and stick to it to always look your best. Perfect example: Sofia Vergara knows she looks good in mermaid dresses, and always chooses variations of the shape on red carpets.

In other cases just to look different some people end up wearing something awful that ruins the occasion.

  • Last but not least, know your worth:

No matter however you dress up, always know that your worth can’t be changed by it. It’s not the dress that matters it’s about the person inside it. Ugly nature can’t be hidden by wearing mesmerizing dresses and good character can’t be snubbed by wearing cheap dresses. So chill, realize that your true value does not come from your amazing new jeans or that awesome necklace.

I hope this article helps to render your fashion sense as well as enhance it!

Ways in which technology has improved agriculture exceptional!

No doubt since the rise of technology, billions of lifestyles, countless processes and a huge number of businesses have been touched and improved with it. Technology has not only made things easier but has taken life to another level of excellence. Medical, school, household, businesses etc., you name it and there’s nothing that technology hasn’t affected in better way.

Our concerning matter is Agriculture. And technology has helped a lot in improving things around if we talk about it too. In fact, there is an endless list of processes that have been improved through technology.

The way technology has evolved agriculture, it is surely worth having a look at. So below I have mentioned 6 ways in which technology has improved agriculture:

  • Finance:

Having a good financial back up is a big factor that involves in the betterment of agriculture. Lack of it takes a big toll on everything that follows ahead. The latest financial methods, accounts, banking, and payroll software have simplified things a lot and it is possible to keep a proper record of financial matters. The simplifying and streamlining of book work, better budgeting, improved reporting capabilities. Not only that, loan and debts have made it easier for farmers to support the growth of their crops and pay back later when they get paid. So overall, not only farmers have a great benefit from it but also the government party and other businesses that deal with agriculture directly for raw material. Financial processes take less time and create fewer headaches for many.

  • Farm management:

Back then only a few people were involved in taking care of the livestock. Which caused mismanagement as well as the spread of unknown diseases among the whole lot. Loss of livestock either due to death or improper management.

But now proper management of livestock through technology has improved things to the next level. Management of livestock numbers provides producers with many advantages. Some include monitoring livestock movements, trading, reporting, forward planning, and feeding programs. New technology and applications streamline this process. It allows producers to track their livestock. As well as create reports that assist in tracking their effectiveness and cost. Additionally, Using technology, the lifetime tractability of livestock is now more effective than ever.Having lifetime tractability is important for various reasons including, Disease Response, market access, reputation, identification.

  • Vehicle operation tracking and GPS:
There are numerous applications of High-precision GPS tracker for vehicles in precision agriculture such as in farm planning, field mapping, tractor guidance, crop surveillance, and yield mapping. Farmers can manage land, water, seed stock, fertilizer and pesticide use, labor and livestock.

Global Positioning System can be used in the following ways by farmers:

    • Tractor Guidance: Farmers can put their agriculture machinery such tractors, harvesters, and cultivators on auto-pilot. Advanced machinery can be programmed to follow a set route or guide with the help of Vehicle GPS Tracking System. Machines can be programmed and timed for major farming tasks like cultivating, fertilizing, harvesting and spraying of pesticides.
    • Crop Surveillance: Micromanaging and surveying of crop fields becomes a piece of cake with High-precision positioning GPS Systems. Pest, insect and weed infestations can be easily mapped and pinpointed. Aircraft sprayers and crop dusters can be easily guided over fields with the help of a Vehicle GPS Tracking Devices. This minimizes excessive usage of chemicals and chemical drift.
    • Tracking Livestock: Livestock, cattle or pets can be easily monitored on a large farm. Collars worn by the animals which are fitted with GPS Trackers can easily track them on a real-time basis. These hassle-free collars are comfortable to wear and provide real-time tracking data to farmers.
    • Yield Monitoring: GPS makes tracking of yield variations possible by collecting timely geospatial information. It allows farmers to precisely navigate and position specific locations in the field where the probability of a better yield is higher. This facilitates future management decisions and input recommendations.
  • Digital marketing monitoring:

Technology has transformed the waymarketing is done, allowing small businesses to scale marketing operations and rival those of large corporations. This means that agribusiness has unprecedented power to the efforts in marketing to farmers. Farmer no longer needs a large team to run a scaled marketing operation. And not even a massive budget – most of the tools farmers can get free or a very low price. And the return on investment gained is going to make every penny spent worth it.

New software allows users to track their online activity, to manage the website and social media campaign activity. Facebook has developed their technology so that reporting is easy and free. Which is useful for many users who what to know who is watching and when.

  • Work, health, safety, and human resource:

Work, health, safety, and human resource management is as important in agriculture as it is in other businesses. You might have seen a huge role of HR in any company you step in. in fact, no business can properly run with the absence of HR. And the introduction of HR in agriculture has caused much positivity and improvement in so many things. Managing WHS and HR can take a significant amount of time, stress and energy. It has helped to educate farmers regarding many important matters. Following things can be done through HR: Inductions, policies and procedures, form templates, Stress-free hazard and incident reporting, Plant and equipment registers, SDS registers etc.

  • Remote monitoring and the use of drones:

The eye of monitor and drones can reach where you physically can’t. Of course, it’s not possible to take care of thousands of acres for a limited number of people and to make sure that thongs are running normal and just fine. Crop health monitoring, site/ paddock surveying, stock feed bunk monitoring, water point checking can be done through the drones and RM.

No matter how small or large an agriculture business is. Technology has touched the agribusiness in many ways. To have a good growing agriculture business it is very important to be acquainted with the technology that is offered today.

The customer is always right? You have been doing it wrong!

Being an employee, have you ever felt the customer got too much on your nerves? But just for the repute of the company and to save its goodwill, you work and tolerate all the rude behavior that comes from customers. That’s because no matter what your moral standards are, you have been brain-washed during the training and made to believe that “The customer is always right”

Well, believe it or not, this phrase has more bad consequences than good ones. And it (the phrase) should be abandoned by businesses for good!

I know accepting things beyond the norm is weird and not always welcomed. But today I will make you believe that why “The customer is always right” is actually wrong. But first, let metell you where this camefrom?

“The customer is always right” is a motto or slogan which exhorts service staff to give a high priority to customer satisfaction. It was popularized by pioneering and successful retailers such as Harry Gordon Selfridge, John Wanamaker, and Marshall Field. They advocated that customer complaints should be treated seriously so that customers do not feel cheated or deceived. This attitude was novel and influential when misrepresentation was rife and caveat emptor (let the buyer beware) was a common legal maxim” (the early 1900s)

For the person who checked it: the above mentioned fact is the authentication to the reader that “the customer is always right” wasn’t a self-made concept—but given by a trust worthy resource. It is better to give support of research or something of the similar nature, I haven’t removed it because of that. Even below, Forbes and other company’s example is given.

Let’s have a better look at the facts below that are worth considering, also if you are running a company or work in the HR department, you better read this article.

  • Unknowingly, the reason for employees bad mental health:

Employees are the precious assets of the company. Their mental wellbeing is very important for the company itself. Some survey I got right in hand to support this.

According to Forbes,

“In this 2016 Work and Well-Being Survey, less than half of working Americans reported that their organization supports the well-being of its employees. The same survey found 1 in 3 of us feel chronically stressed on the job.  If happier workers = more productive workers, what’s stopping companies—and their employees—from taking action?”

Taking care of employees mental health doesn’t mean offering few holidays or extra remuneration. It’s about talking out the factors that bother them in the work place. To work on the limitations and control the external factors responsible for ruining the “good environment” in the work place. And the unfair behavior of customers is also one of the things that need to be counted among those.

Of course, there are plenty of examples of bad employees giving unfair customer service but giving a generalized statement to cover that up by saying “the customer is always right” is actually nonproductive.

  • It Gives Coarse Customers a One-sided/unfair Advantage:

Even after having certain rules and policies of the company, it can be really testy to deal with some customers. They might bring up certain demands that are not possible to meet or be manipulative to gain advantage for themselves by proving unfair drama. Such things make employees’ job harder.

In such circumstances, even the employees cannot do much because they are ones who have to save the company’s dignity, and unfortunately—just give up!

Be nice to nice customers, but if you are fulfilling unjust demands and condition, such customers will coming back and hence things will be messed up.

A good company is the one who has just policies for all customers but also holdsflexibility to deal with unfavorable circumstances.

  • The certain customer can be unhealthy for the business:

You might think the more customers you have the better it is for the business. But it’s not true in all cases. Instead, it can turn out to be that some customers can cause major damage to the company or its repute.

Let me give you a helpful example.

Danish IT service provider ServiceGruppen proudly tells this story:

“One of our service technicians arrived at a customer’s site for a maintenance task, and to his great shock was treated very rudely by the customer.

When he’d finished the task and returned to the office, he told management about his experience. They promptly cancelled the customer’s contract”

Just like Kelleher dismissed the irate lady who kept complaining (but somehow also kept flying on Southwest), ServiceGruppen fired a bad customer. Note that it was not even a matter of a financial calculation — not a question of whether either company would make or lose money on that customer in the long run. It was a simple matter of respect and dignity and of treating their employees. Seems fair enough? Yep!

Just like that, you might see many other examples of such customers. So would you say “the customer is always right”?

  • Tit for tat:

Have you ever heard the “Tit for Tat” situation? The way you behave is what you get in return. When you put the employees first, they put the customers first. Put employees first and they will be happy at work. Employees who are happy at work give better customer service because:

  • The care about the company, and it’s customers they deal with
  • They work enthusiastically
  • They have a positive energy, both towards the work and office environment
  • They are motivated enough, customers are their priority

On the other hand, when the company and management consistently side with customers instead of with employees, it sends a clear message that:

  • Employees and their needs are undervalued
  • Treating employees in a good manner is not important, only the sale is
  • Employees have no right to get respect from customers, hence can create low self-esteem in them.
  • Employees have to put up with everything from customers, no matter how worse the situation gets

When this attitude prevails, employees stop caring about service. At that point, genuinely good service is almost impossible — the best customers can hope for is fake good service. You know what I mean: courteous on the surface only.

After reading the facts above, I am sure that you won’t consider the customer always right (when unfair circumstances) and be the better judge of right or wrong.

May you have happy customer service! 😉

Isn’t there something fascinating about dreams?

Ever felt strange happenings while dreaming? Or whatever you dream about just came true? Or maybe whatever you dream about was your childhood wish?

Dreams have fascinated people from the beginning of time. People believe dreams foretell the future; that they have psychological meanings; we commune with spirits and the dead; that there are visitations from ancestors; dreams make prophesies and are filled with omens and auguries. They are steeped in mystery, as if written in some kind of secret code, decipherable to a special few.

Isn’t it enthralling how different meaning dreams can have? Let’s find out some interesting things about dreams!

Macrobius” a Roman, described 5 types of dreams:

  1. Somnium: an enigmatic mysterious dream requiring interpretation; think Freud and psychoanalysis.
  2. Visio: a prophetic vision that predicts a future that comes true; think Jacob’s Dream in the Bible
  3. Oraculum: prophetic dream in which an authority figure plays a role; think of the visions of Joan of Arc in which three saints instruct her to recover France from the English.
  4. Insomnium: a nightmare or false or disturbing dream caused by a pathological condition; think the repetitive nightmares of PTSD
  5. Visum: a nightmare that include apparitions and contact with supernatural beings; think Scrooge’s journeys into the past and future in Dickens’ Christmas Carol.

Dreams:

Dreaming is another form of consciousness and it is defined as, “A hallucinatory experience during sleep consisting of visual images related in a story-like structure, which are accepted as reality at the time.”

The average person spends about 6 years of their life dreaming. Most dreams serve as a review of the day and are related to the day’s activities. Interestingly, our brains register more stimuli during the day than we realize and our brains will then take this unnoticed information and incorporate it into our dreams.

While there is no scientific evidence for dreams having any symbolic meaning there are many theories about dreams and their purposes.

Some of these theories include:

  • “The information processing theory proposers that our dreams help us sort our tan process the day’s events and fix them into our memory”
  • “The Physiological Function Theory suggests that dreaming may promote neural development and preserve neural pathways by providing the brain with stimulation”
  • “Dreams are part of our cognitive development, they draw on our knowledge and understanding of the world, mimicking reality”
  • “REM sleep triggers neural activity, and dreams are an accidental side-effect”

Explication of dream:

How is it that Eddie went to bed that night and was awakened eight hours later by killing a monster in a dream?

The meaning of the dream is as follows: The anxiety that generated the dream derived from the argument with the professor. The way a dream operates is that the surface conflict is like the crust of a piece of pie. The deeper meaning of the dream cuts all the way to the center of the pie, to his core. Eddie re-enacts a form of the already established internal play to digest the surface conflict. The feeling relatedness in Eddie’s dream is one of sadomasochism. The ogre, a monomaniacal bully, hates Eddie. He is stalking Eddie in order to kill him. Eddie is in the masochistic position of this relationship. He is threatened, terrified, humiliated, and impotent. By his actions later in the dream, it is clear that the masochist in this relationship is also filled with hatred and murderous rage. The limbic system clearly creates the feeling relationship between dream characters.

The inner context for the dream, then, was a story that already existed inside Eddie. This story and inner world derived from Eddie’s formative emotional experience with his mother and father. The emotional conflict with the professor resonated with this inner story. The surface of his inner story was the problematic relationship with his father, who was an arrogant, self-involved, and cruel man. Eddie spent his childhood hopelessly seeking his father’s approval but to no avail. When Eddie sought approval from his professor, sure enough, his hopes were dashed once again. He was forced to submit to unresponsive disapproval from male authority.

More profoundly, the inner story of Eddie and his father telescoped to the more disturbing relationship with his mother. Hers was a secret world of physical and emotional sadism and violence. In fact, his father’s humiliations were an extension of the core violations by his mother. Eddie’s experience of his father was already filtered by what had come before. The relationship between Eddie and his mother was one of unadulterated sadomasochism. Mother related to Eddie by her sadistic and violent rage. As the masochistic object of this rage, Eddie was on the receiving end of unrelenting physical and emotional abuse, cruelty, humiliation, and threat. He was helpless, impotent, and intimidated.

Therefore:

This dream is a model as to how dreams operate. For the most part we have to digest emotional conflicts which happen on a daily basis. The issues that may occupy the dream stage are combats, quests, challenges, boredoms, wishes, hopes, curiosities, pain, disappointments, sexual interests and stimulations, fantasies, competitions, fears, anxieties, cruelty, sadism, humiliations, sufferings, abuse, deprivations, traumas, envies, jealousies, sadness’s, and otherwise the full panoply of life’s dramas, engagements, and relationship adventures. The conflicts to be digested aren’t always emotional ones. Sometimes when a person is cognitively trying to solve a problem, and this is the context that is on his plate when he goes to sleep. The dream may through its dream work digest the problem and come up with a solution. On awakening if one remembers the dream he will see the solution. If one doesn’t remember the dream he’ll come to the solution refreshed in the morning.

Do you want to know about some interesting facts about dreams?

  • Not everybody can dream in color: Approximately 12% of people dream only in black-and-white and the rest can dream in full color. That’s a fascinating fact. And, this can be linked to technology and invention of color media/television. So is there something called dream colors meaning? I’m pretty sure, there is.
  • We forget at least 90% of the dreams: Hasn’t it happened to you that as soon as you wake up, you can’t seem to remember what you were dreaming about? This is true that within 5 minutes of us waking up from a dream, half the dream is already forgotten. And within 10 minutes, 90% of the dream is lost. This is why we have such a hard time remembering dreams.
  • Emotions experienced in our dreams are real: People tend to experience anxiety the most in their dreams. Such negative emotions appear more in our dreams than positive ones.
  • Blind people can dream too: People who’ve lost their eye-sight after birth can see some images while asleep. Now those who are blind since birth don’t see any images, however, they experience vivid dreams that involve their sense of smell, touch, emotions and sound. All physical situations help make dreams, which in short provides blind people ability to dream.
  • Animals dream as well, it’s not just a human thing: Do dogs dream? Or how about cats? Any other animals? Studies have actually proven that many different animals show similar brain waves during “dream sleep” as we do. If you have a dog or cat, watch when he/she is sleeping. Any kind of paw movements that indicate that they are running (while making a yapping sound) will mean that they are chasing someone/something.
  • External stimuli tend to invade our dreams: Also called “dream incorporation”, our mind starts to interpret the external stimuli that storm our senses while we sleep and they become a part of our dreams. For example, we hear a sound in reality and then incorporate it in our dreams in some way or another.
  • We can only dream of what we know:There may be strange faces and/or places in our dreams, but your mind is not making any of this up. You may not remember the places and faces during your life, but your mind does. And hence, when you feel you don’t know someone, in fact, you have seen him/her sometime in your life.

  • Look for proof:

Cloudy things might keep you worried all the time. The solution is to present yourself with proof and stick to it. forexample, if you think you are not performing your daily duties well, then make a list of all those things you usually do and tally your tasks with it. Same is the case if you are a family person. Make a list of all the chores and errands to run, and follow them up.

  • Open up and ensure:

Rather than wondering and assuming things all the time, directly communicate with people and use your sources to ensure the proper information. As well as think and consider things from the outside prism. Ask your loved ones/people who are close to you that what they feel about your actions. If you lack to fulfil their needs, find solutions and strike a balance while considering your needs as well.

  • Self-gratitude,please!

You deserve to be valued and that should be your own self who does that. Make a gratitude journal, and write any 2-3 things you did that you liked about yourself or any likeable action that made people happy. This will drift your mind away from self-guilt and negative thoughts and enhance self-esteem.

  • Swap your place with the other person:

How does that help? We often wonder why others do the things they do. We question their actions and doubt our own worth and abilities.

By swapping yourself with their place you can have a more objective view of the matter. To survive, it’s important to understand people’s perspective too.

  • The addition of gray:

Thinking and dealing with matters in the light of “black and white” (a metaphor for 2 extremes) can be really harmful to you. Try adding a bit gray element, look at the situation through multiple prisms, consider all the possibilities and go with the best one. This will help you to be flexible in your decisions.

  • Is guilt a cloak upon other emotions, figure that out!

If you are in a toxic relationship, the other partner might consider you selfish for taking care of your own emotional needs or setting certain boundaries. You might be angry, hurt or scared but this confusing conflict within yourself might be masking guilt.

In such a case, disconnect yourself form the toxic relation for a while and organize and recognize the problematic factors, keep them on a table and look for solutions.

  • Judge your limits, act accordingly:

It’s better to let the curtain down and be as much honest as you can be. It’s not necessary to push yourself to the dead point and then stop. Be the boss of your actions, make those commitments which you know you can fulfil and not beyond that.

  • Take care of yourself:

It’s time to give yourself all the care that you gave others while ignoring yourself. Take an hour or a few off from work and other duties and do things that you love to. Dine out with a friend, go fishing or do anything that is a source of inner peace for you.

By following the given tips above, you will gradually feel light-weighted from all the excessive burden that you have been carrying that actually doesn’t belong to you.

Free yourself from the chains, its time to shine ladies!
